Blabbering of a Fool

白虎野の娘 (Byakkoya no Musume) lyrics translation

As usual, a translation for 白虎野の娘, taken from LYRICS. Editing done by myself.

Note: Lines in italics have been removed. Many thanks to excel99jp (see comments). 🙂

Original lyrics here.

白虎野の娘 (Byakkoya no Musume)/The Girl in White Tiger Field

The distant sky, in the sounds of the revolving ring of flowers
That day, on the day, the moment I was crossing over, I wake up
Painting the flame in the shimmering blaze, pursuing the girl playing on the streets
Appearing on high grounds, a name of an unknown person that is not emotionally attached

In that street seen in my dreams, voices of the shadows are murmuring
In the coming days too, in the coming days too, crossing over for thousands of times
The wise man in darkness is collecting significances that had been cast aside
On the coastlands, on the coastlands, the seemingly invisible flames are dancing

Ah, the mantle goes up in flames of loquacity
Congratulate the people standing in the abandoned field
Ah, all is peaceful, all is peaceful, to the eyes of the girl
Ah, lights are lit in the unknown capital

The high sky, the clouds in the scarlet day that look as though on fire
That day, that day, I was shown the road that had been lost at that time
Repeatedly, the resounding dream, the time of chasing the wind descends
By the riverside, by the riverside, a seemingly invisible crimson flower was spotted

Ah, the mantle goes up in flames of loquacity
Congratulate the people standing in the abandoned field
Ah, all is peaceful, all is peaceful, to the eyes of the girl
Ah, lights are lit in the unknown capital

Ah, the mantle goes up in flames of loquacity
Congratulate the people standing in the abandoned field
Ah, all is peaceful, all is peaceful, to the eyes of the girl
Ah, lights are lit in the unknown capital

And again, please forgive me for any mistakes in the editing that I have done, and do point them out so that changes can be made. 🙂

@ Jenny: I don’t think it says “This is our hands and feet” that is nonsense. The Vietnamese part at the end of the song is “Xin chào các bạn. Đây là Quê Hương của chúng tôi. Đây là tương lai của chúng tôi.”

    The translation is :

“Hello friends. This is our country land. This is our future.”

There’s a missing Vietnamese part after “Ah, lights are lit in the unknown capital” that says “Hello, everyone. This is our country. This is our hands and feet.”

It’s just a little awkward to me that there’s a Vietnamese part in a Japanese song… 😀 Thanks for the translated lyrics btw!

If I’m not mistaken, this song is about the White Tiger Fields, which is a vietnamese oil field that was developed by joint Vietnamese-Russian effort called Vietsovpetro.

Which wouldn’t be unfounded for them to put some part in vietnamese.

    Hi MavericK,

I have a complete translation of the song that I’d gladly send you. I’d post it here, but it’s kind of long. If you’re interested just email me and I’ll send it to you.

    Hi excel99jp. 🙂

Thanks for visiting…kinda ashamed that you may have read the various erroneous translations I have done… 😛

Well, changes have been made to your suggestions! Thanks!
I really hope I can learn much from you (I’m still learning the language)!!! 😀

Hi. Just a note about the lines at the beginning. I’m a professional translator of Japanese to English, I do work for companies like Nissan, Hitachi, Toshiba, etc. So I think my Japanese is pretty good! But those lines don’t make any sense. The first time I heard the song it never crossed my mind those were Japanese words. I guessed they were Chinese or Vietnamese, or just computer ‘words.’ But they are definitely not Japanese. The ‘translation’ you have up is on many web pages, but does not show up in the lyrics on the CD, or anywhere with the region 2 DVD box set. I think you can safely just delete them. They are incorrect.

Not sure, the changes you made look pretty good. Maybe move the note about the italics to the beginning like “this may be what he is saying.”

    Thank you pearlalexander!!!

Well, shall do like what you have suggested…but I would put them in italics for now…and not remove them…

…or should I really remove them totally? 😛

    Thanks again!!!

    Great job with the translation.

However, I’m perplexed by your translation of the mocked up speech in the very beginning:

“Intoxicated, wondering why is there Infinity and Beauty” and variations thereof.

This seems to be an interpretation of jibberish computer-generated sounds, not actual Japanese words. I’ve seen him live and he never sings along to the cut and splice bits in this song. It’s also not printed in the lyrics.

If you remove the attempts to translate a unique recording effects which yields nonsense syllables, you’ve got a fantastic translation.
