    Hi tina!

Whoa…a surge of comments there…haha…shall start off here then. 🙂

Actually, I did a rough translation for this already, but like I mention, it’s rough, so yeah…dun count on it being 100% accurate…perhaps not even 70%? 😛

I always felt that Taiwanese idol dramas are just, well, like the names, selling the idols…in terms of looks and bodies. Only a handful are really strong in their plot/story, and also a handful of idols who can really act.
    Yeah…J-Drama FTW!!! 😀

Well, the ending’s not all sad…at least Sano and Ashiya got to get their feelings across to each other. As for the farewell part, sad indeed, but thought that it was rather too stretched out…kinda feel that Horikita-san was trying to squeeze her tears out form her eyes. 😛

Well, according to DramaWiki, there will not be a second season like Hana Yori Dango, but a SP (special), just like Proposal Daisakusen (a drama I recommend watching if you have not). 🙂

Hi Chad! Thanks very much for the comments!!! 😀

Anyway, yup, I’m Singaporean, one who likes to complain (which Singaporean doesn’t? 😛 )…haha….

And glad to see another to agree on the evisceration…not just that, the difference in the release of such media is also too great (just look at the Doraemon movie that’s about to/just showing in local cinemas…it was released in March, 2006 in Japan!!!)

Anyway again, thanks for the comments, and for visiting! See you again…? Haha…

  9. undercoverchad Monday, November 19, 2007 at 201

Hey man, found this place while searching for the lyrics (thanks btw for putting them up, now I can sing along in badly mangled japanese), and was impressed by your site.

On a side note…Hail fellow Singaporean! (That’s what I assumed since you mentioned Singapore.)

Agree with the ‘we rarely get to watch anything nice that hasn’t been eviscerated first’ sentiment. And they wonder why we like to download.

Anyway, keep up the good work! Will be looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

hahahah just noticed there’s already the translation.

  16. zeri Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 1427

Seriously before I know the lyric, I thought the ABC is “Hey Bishie”, loL! Bishie–> pretty boys, so I thought it really refers to the pretty boys of the Ohsaka Gakuen boys from Hanakimi. loL!

but now I know it’s actually ABC. hahahaha

Hopefully to know its English translation one day 🙂

Yo Dee! I’ve watched the trailer for ‘Crows Zero’…and what a ‘BAM’ it gave me!!! Indeed, Oguri Shun-san’s image has been categorized as ‘dark and cool’…but with ‘Crows Zero, let me add a ‘violent’ to it too. 😀

Sadly, I am 99.99% sure that there is no chance of locals able to watch this movie on the big screen in Singapore. Even if it screens, it will definitely be cut into a 1-hour movie, if not 30-mins.

By the way, I have never been to Japan before, though I have always wanted to since primary/elementary school. 😛

  19. Dee Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 1256

    Hello,

If you want to fortify your image of Oguri Shun as the “dark and cool” character with a twist of violent tendencies, check out his upcoming movie “Crows Zero.”

The director, Miike Takashi, I completely respect. He is known for his Japanese mafia movies. You may be aware but this movie is based on a comic book series about a power contest between inter-school and intra-school gangs. Anyways, it’s a dude-oriented story.

As always, I enjoy looking at your work^^

PS Living in Tokyo ain’t too bad. There are good things and bad things but I call it home.

  20. MavericK Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 701

    Yo!

And whoa, you live in Japan, Dee? How is life over there? I bet it’s kinda good there, ya? Apart from the fact that Japan’s quite prone to natural disasters… 😛
I’ve been waiting to visit Japan for a very, very long time now…but I haven’t got the money… 😦

Haha, anyway, about ‘Kisaragi’…I read the introduction for it…’One year has passed since a C-grade, no, a D-grade bikini model named Kisaragi Miki committed suicide…’…and watched the trailer for the movie…seems interesting enough, with the possible twist and the 5 ‘colorful’ characters.

I think this movie suits Oguri Shun-san pretty well, for my image of him has always rather cool and dark (as I have watched his performance in Densha Otoko, Hana-Kimi, and Neighbour No.13…haven’t watched Hana Yori Dango yet… 😛 )

And yeah, I’m working on the lyrics of ‘Kisaragi’, the theme song of the same name as the movie. 😀

  21. Dee Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 006

I find everything about your site helpful and very interesting. I live in Japan so it’s refreshing to see what people outside of the country think about J-dramas and theme songs.

Dunno if this is the right place to add input but if you like Oguri Shun, his movie “Kisaragi” is playing in the theaters here. If don’t already don’t know, it’s about a bunch of fan boys getting together on the 1st anniversary of an idol’s death. Once the story begins to unravel, it turns into a murder mystery. Here’s the site:

    http://www.kisaragi-movie.com/

It will be cool if you can eventually give us your insightful comments on this movie and theme songs but only if it falls under your radar.

    Thanks for all the work^^;

Hi Dee! When you mean the romanized version under the Japanese, you mean like what I have done? Or the entire romanized lyrics below the Japanese lyrics? 🙂

Also, thanks for the other interpretation of ‘Ikenai Taiyou’! Really appreciate it…hmmm…perhaps I shall add another translation, bearing meaning same or similar to your reminder… 😀

    Thanks again!!!

  23. Dee Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2350

    Postscript

Or Ikenai Taiyou can mean in this sense, a guy who can’t help himself falling for a girl he thinks is alluring so he is chastising himself for the physical attraction. Colloquial Japanese is indeed difficult to translate. Ganbatte!

  24. Dee Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2338

Thanks for posting the lyrics. I find it much easier to read with the romanized version underneath the Japanese^^
BTW, thought I should clarify the meaning of “ikenai taiyou” If you should ever use “ikenai” in Japanese to refer to a love interest, it means that somebody is so sexually alluring that it shouldn’t even be allowed, hence the expression “ikenai.” In other words, it means somebody is really hot. Put “taiyou” (sun) together, I would translate it as the “The Forbidden Sun” After all, the song is about a summer romance or to be blunt, a summer quickie.

  25. MavericK Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 1355

    Hey…no problem at all…

Oh yeah, the “Na Na~” is indeed very addictive, especially when ‘combo-ed’ with the ‘IKENAI TAIYOU!!!’ opening…gets you really high… 😛

  26. chings Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 1348

thx for the lyrics n the romanization too! this song is really addictive~ haha esp the “na na na~~” part.. XD

  27. MavericK Monday, July 23, 2007 at 017

Well, my Japanese isn’t that great, but I believe the translated title would be ‘A Sun That Can’t Get Anything Done’…

I’ve also done the translation for this song…can’t be sure if it’s even 70% accurate though…but I did try my best… 😀
